Shadow-Cursed Lands
With Karlach traverse the Shadow-Cursed Lands to the Last Light Inn without a Moonlantern.
With Karlach survive two (2) rounds of the Shadow Curse.
Have one of your characters equip a torch to prevent curse damage. You can dual wield torches. Switching from Torches to Melee Weapons takes an action, so be prepared. The Blood of Lathander also helps.
Go West then South to get a chest, then back West and North for another chest. Continue South then East to find some Goblins and Half-Orcs. Tell the goblin to chase the bone himself. Speak (with Animals) to the Hyena.
Go South to clear up some Shadow-cursed blights. Return North then West to cross the bridge. Go North just past the Outhouse to clear the house and behind it.
Continue West and South following the left wall. Loot the Heavy Chest, return North and slightly East and jump up South. Continue South to loot a Chest. Return North, jump back down, then keep going South till you find the body of Inquisitor Verzen Wranlock.
Loot and read his Inspection Notes. Continue South for a Wooden Chest and two Traveler’s Chests. Don’t cross the bridge yet, return North and continue to the map marker for Investigate the Selûnite Resistance.
As you near the marker prepare for a Meazel ambush inside the Potter’s house. After the fight on the East side of the house is the Potter’s Chest Key behind the Moveable Brick (requires Perception check).
Exit the potter’s house East then go Southeast and clear the house. Key for the chest is on the roof. Go Northwest to find True Soul Korliss. Destroy the Continual Flame torches to get the Shadow Mastiffs to appear.
Continue North and East until you come upon some dead Tieflings. Go Northeast then immediately Southeast to find a Night Orchid. You can gift it to Shadowheart in dialog.
Go back and continue Northeast until you can turn East, then South to Shadow-cursed Shambling Mound ambush. Go back Northwest then skip the bridge to the Last Light Inn for now and continue Northeast to the Shadow-cursed Raven ambush.
With Wyll keep all the Harpers alive.
With Lae’zel complete the Harper ambush.
Rush North to save the Harpers from Shadows. Return South to the bridge and cross to the Last Light Inn. Have Karlach join you, speak with Halsin at Camp about the Shadow Curse.
Last Light Inn
With Shadowheart witness Yonas’ funeral.
With Wyll meet Jaheira and stay in her good books.
Tell Jaheira the truth. Trade with Quartermaster Talli. Walk around outside and talk to Fist Ulthred (Fountain), Harper Meygan (South side), and Bex (North side). Loot the top floor of the barn.
Ensure Karlach has Infernal Iron, Infernal Alloy, and Devilfoil masks then Trade with Dammon multiple times to get a heart upgrade, 3 pieces of Flawed Helldusk armor, and orthon explosives.
Talk with the Strange Ox (Speak with Animals) but again don’t push it.
Go inside the Last Light Inn and talk with Mattis, get the Tower-Shaped Key, trade with Mattis (get The Corvid Token).
With Wyll help Mol win lanceboard.
With Gale help Mol win lanceboard.
With Astarion rig the game of lanceboard.
If Astarion is ready to speak with Raphael, have Astarion ask him about his scars. If he’s not ready find Raphael again at the Grand Mausoleum.
Talk with Mol, use Gale’s move. Talk to Cerys, Rolan, and Ide. Look in the loose plank in the Northwest room.
With Wyll offer a hopeful response to Alfira.
Speak with Barcus, Alfira, Counsellor Florrick, and Art Cullagh.
With Astarion resist the wine/truth serum when talking to Jaheira.
With Lae’zel kill the Drider.
Speak with Jaheira. Go to the bridge and talk to Harper Branthos. Follow the Harpers then talk to one at the ambush site. After killing the Drider and taking his Moonlantern, free the pixie.
With Gale save and read “Dead Druid’s Journal”.
Return to where you helped the Harpers then go East and Northeast across the bridge. Grab the Dead Druid’s Journal. Go back to the Harper battle site then Southeast. Don’t miss Ellie May’s Tombstone and burrow with Family Ring.
Talk to He Who Was and offer to get a ledger for him.
Follow the Southwest path into another ambush. Return to the Last Light Inn, go to the Docks on the West side then East under the building to the Cellar. Go South and get the Last Light Detention Cell Key from the table.
In the Southern cell move the crates to find a Cracked Wall. In the Northern room move the crates to find a door. Through the door to find another Cracked Wall to the West. Go through either Cracked Wall to find Meenlocks. Read Halfred’s Note.
Go up the Knotted Roots and clear the house. Don’t miss the Penumbral Armor. Go back to the Last Light Inn.
With Shadowheart witness Isobel’s ritual to keep up the protection of Last Light.
With Wyll side with Isobel.
With Lae’zel receive Selune’s Blessing from Isobel.
Go upstairs to Isobel’s room. Read her diary. Prepare for a big fight. Talk to Isobel.
Talk to Mattis and offer to rescue Mol. Go to camp and talk to Halsin about Art Cullagh.
Return to Last Light Inn and talk with Halsin by Art Cullagh.
Shadow-Cursed Lands
With Wyll save Rolan.
Go South along the coast to the Potter’s House. Continue South along the coast all the way and save Rolan. Go Northeast past the Drider ambush site until you reach the Shadowed Battlefield Waypoint Sigil. Continue Northeast.
With Karlach beat Oliver without alerting the shadow creatures.
Go into the house and talk to Oliver. Play Hide and Seek with him. Find him
behind the cart
. Play again and find him
where you first talked to him

Reithwin
Long Rest at some point in the Shadow-Cursed lands and Mizora will appear at Camp requesting a rescue. Demand Wyll be released from his Pact.
With Gale open the way into the Sharran Sanctuary
With Gale perform the ritual in the Sharran Sanctuary.
Go South to the first bridge to Reithwin (just South of the Potter’s House) and head West across. Continue West until you reach a statue of Ketheric Thorm. Interact with the
North, West, then East
plaques. Enter the Southern door.
With Shadowheart pass all the tests.
Have Shadowheart interact with each statue then give a blood offering at the altar.
Don’t have Shadowheart with you if you want to steal the Ritual Dagger.
With Wyll find, save, and bring Arabella to your camp.
Go North and speak to Arabella. Let her stay at your camp while you look for her parents.
Go North and leaning against a tree to the East is a skeleton. Loot True Love’s Caress from it.
Go North to a small crypt, then Northwest and North to find Raphael. If Astarion didn’t ask about his scars in the Last Light Inn, now would be the time. The Grand Mausoleum must wait.
House of Healing
Go East and South to find the Grand Mausoleum Waypoint. Go Northeast to find Cursed Kuo-Toa on the beach. Enter the Ominous Crevice and fight the Hollow Armour and Fetid Ooze in the pit.
Use Vaulting, Fly, or Misty Step to get across the chasm. Don’t miss the chest on a side ledge. Use the button on the statue to open the door. The next room is filled with poison and zombies. You can disarm the 5 vents, but there will still be poison.
With Shadowheart and Gale read “Olam’s Journal” found in the West side room.
with Gale read “Surgeon’s Research Notes” found in the Laboratory on a desk.
Go South through the double doors straight ahead and loot the room. Go West into a laboratory, clear the room. Go East toward the exit, but press the button on the South wall to open a secret room.
Go East up the ramp to exit and encounter an Undead ambush. Go East to the Double Oak Doors of the House of Healing.
Continue East through another door to the Children’s Wing and convince Sister Lidwin her patient is fine so you can trade. Her patients are Komira and Locke, Arabella’s parents.
Go West back to the main hall and talk to Sister Sinda. Dispatch her and get her key and the Hospital Library Key in the Heavy Chest.
Just North of her against the West wall between two beds is a skeleton on a mattress. Loot True Love’s Embrace and read the Diary.
Take the stairs up and use the elevator. Go North to the Library. Loot the room. Go out the West window for a Harpy’s nest.
Go out the North window and climb down the roots. Go slightly south and open the Oak Door to the Surgeon’s Office. Grab the key and read the book on the table.
With Gale discover fate of Thorm family members.
With Shadowheart convince Malus Thorm on the ways of Shar.
With Lae’zel defeat the surgeon without being operated on or drawing steel.
Go South into the Operating Theater and speak with Malus Thorm. You can convince him to off himself, his nurses, or both. Once the nurses are dead, loot their implements so he can’t do surgery (Achievement) then attack him.
Last Light Inn
With Gale wake Art Cullagh from his slumber.
With Karlach defend the portal for Halsin.
Return to the Last Light Inn. Talk to Rolan and Art Cullagh. Meet Halsin at the Lakeshore (North of Last Light Inn) and speak to him. Defend the Portal for 5 rounds.
Go Northeast and find a body under the Rubble.
With Lae’zel/Astarion lie to Arabella about her parents.
OR
With Lae’zel tell Arabella the truth.
Go to Camp and tell Arabella about her parents. Talk to Halsin. Use the Shadowed Battlefield Waypoint then go Northeast to Oliver’s House. Talk to Oliver then follow him through the Shadow Portal.
After defeating Oliver’s “friends” go back to Camp and talk to Thaniel and Halsin. Go back to the Last Light Inn and talk to Art Cullagh.
After a long rest talk to Arabella about her parents again.
Masons’ Guild
Go back to Reithwin Town Waypoint then Northwest to the Masons’ Guild. From the symbol on the ground interact with one of the skeletons then go North through the front door.
Go North through the next door and grab Infernal Iron if needed to the East. Use the Ornate Wooden Hatch to the West go down to the basement. Go to the West wall and use the Tower-Shaped Key in the Keyhold Herald and continue West.
Read the Note from the Mason on the Southern wall. Go South to the Dining Hall. Read the Mason’s Letter and Mason’s Log on the table. Loot the Gilded Chest behind the altar.
Interact with the Moonrise Diagram against the East wall then press the button to open the secret door. Loot the room.
Go back upstairs, outside to the East side of the building climb a ladder to the roof to access a Heavy Chest.
Reithwin Tollhouse
With Astarion kill all the visages in combat to disarm Gerringothe.
With Lae’zel defeat all Thorms.
With Gale discover fate of Thorm family members.
Go South to the Reithwin Tollhouse. Go upstairs and you’ll find Gerringothe Thorm. If you want to fight her, be sure to grab all the gold on the ground and destroy her floating skulls first. Otherwise Persuade her there is no one to oversee her.
Get the Tollhouse Clerk’s Key from the Desk in the Northwest corner to open the Clerk’s office (Double Oak Doors) to the East.
Use the Tollhouse Master’s Office Key to open the Office to the Southwest. Destroy the Toll Collector Statue to open a hole in the floor. Go down the hole in the floor. Find the button in the Southwest corner to exit.
Take the ladder by the Seized Inventory Plaque and loot the skeleton to the Southeast for Tollhouse Basement Key. Destroy the loose planks over the Seized Inventory room then drop down. Jump out the window (Feather Fall, Fly, Misty Step)
In the Northeast corner is a safe. Just to the right of it on the wall is a note with the combination. Go downstairs, out the Southern door down the stairs. There is a Heavy Chest Southeast of the Heavy Oak Doors to the Basement.
Go into the Basement. Press the Button on the West wall to open the Secret doors. On a table is a Soul Coin. Take the Roots down to a sub-basement. Loot the area.
Exit the Basement and go West to The Waning Moon.
The Waning Moon
With Gale discover fate of Thorm family members.
With Lae’zel defeat all Thorms.
With Astarion use Sleight of Hand twice to drink with Thisobald.
With Karlach drink and resist the effects of the brewer’s concoction.
Go inside and talk to Thisobald Thorm. Drink him to death. Grab the Rat Bat behind the bar and look under the Loose Planks for Madeline’s Ledger.
Use the Worn Key to open the Metal Door to the west. Loot the area, be sure to read Research Notes on the desk and Purple Worm Gullet just to the left.
Go upstairs and out the open Southeast doorway then up the stairs to the South. Loot the building.
With Shadowheart assist He Who Was.
Return to talk to He Who Was in the Northwest Shadow-Cursed Lands.
Go to Reithwin Town Waypoint then go all the way West to a Githyanki ambush. Voss’ Psionic Detector should warn you. Go West to find the Road to Baldur’s Gate Waypoint. Continue West to see an Army in the distance.
Go North to the stash marked on your map.
Moonrise Towers
With Gale discover fate of Thorm family members.
With Wyll relate your feats to Lann Tarv.
With Lae’zel impress Lann Tarv.
With Karlach go Southeast to Moonrise Towers. Keep going South into the Tower. Trade with Roah Moonglow and Lann Tarv. Tell Lann Tarv he won’t sell much with his attitude. Lann Tarv will give 3 Soul Coins to Karlach. Go South into the throne room.
Free the Goblins for an achievement. Take the Western Door and follow the blood down the Stairs. Free Minthara, take her out of the Tower and send her to camp.
With Wyll free the Gnolls.
With Astarion influence the Gnolls.
Go back inside and take the first door to the East to the Dining room. Continue East to the Kitchen and talk to Linsella. Sever her control over the Gnolls.
With Karlach speak (with Animals) to Steelclaw.
Go out the South door and continue Southwest to speak with Steelclaw (the cat).
With Astarion go through the Northwest door and talk to Araj Oblodra. Have Astarion bite her for a Potion of Everlasting Vigour.
Go back to the Foyer then West to the Dormitory and talk to Mig. So South through the Door outside and destroy the Cracked Wall for a Wooden Chest.
With Gale discover what the meat sound is.
Go back to the Foyer and up the ladder in the Southeast corner. Jump South then East and interact with the Cracked Wall.
With Astarion lie to Z’rell about the fate of the goblins.
With Astarion instigate Z’rell to show her powers from the Absolute.
Go back to the Throne Room then up stairs to the next floor. Go West and talk with Disciple Z’rell and gain quest to find Kethric’s Relic. Ask for more support to get access to Lann Torv’s secret stash.
With Gale in the party go East to the Library then North to Balthazar’s room. Search the room, be sure to read Orpheous Part III, grab a heart from the Viscera on the floor or a Corpse. Grab the Moonlantern near the Desk.
With Gale solve the study puzzle without making a mistake.
Interact with the Books labled
Musty Tomes
. Interact with the Ancient Altar and insert a
Heart
. Enter the hidden room and interact with the Ritual Circle on the desk. Give Gale the choice to destroy it. Read the Research Notes.
With Karlach enter a restricted area from the outside.
Exit Balthazar’s room to the North then enter Kethric Thorm’s room from the outside. Leave after recieving inspiration.
Return to the Library and ask Z’rell what the Relic is, Persuade her then ask for support. Go back to Lann Tarv to trade.
With Astarion betray Moonrise.
With Astarion talk to the prisoners (unobserved, dead guards, or Persuade).
With Wyll breakout all the prisoners.
Go back down to the Basement and go West to the prisoner cells. Take out the guards and the Warden, then talk to Wulbren and Lia. Throw Wulbren’s Hammer into his cell. Open the cell doors, make sure all prisoners are not in their cells then follow Wulbren out.
With Karlach enter the Oubliette.
Let them know to go to Last Light Inn. Head back towards the prison and turn West and jump across before the cell wall. Go down the Cragged Rock to the Oubliette and clear it. Don’t miss the Harp-Shaped pin the Viscera. Go back up to the basement.
Kill everyone in the Basement. Go North through the Heavy Oak Doors and clear the back docks. Interact with the Zhentarim Shipping Crate. Go back into the Basement.
With Gale read “Letter to Kethric” in the opulent chest.
Clear the Tower first floor of all hostiles (leave Roah Moonglow and Araj Oblodra alive, unconscious if necessary), then the second floor so the Harpers don’t get slaughtered. Don’t miss the Loose Planks in Ketheric’s room. Don’t go up to the roof yet.
Last Light Inn
Go back to the Last Light Inn. Talk to Bex North of the Barn. Go inside and talk to Alfira, Rolan, and Barcus. Talk to Wulbren then Jaheira.
With Minthara Speak (with Animals) to His Majesty.
Grand Mausoleum
Go back to the Grand Mausoleum and enter. Search the area. Be sure to read everything you find. Beware traps. The Stained Book tells you the key to the puzzle (Splendor, Tragedy, Infamy)
With Gale open the way into the Guantlet of Shar.
With Minthara learn Ketheric’s past (read diarys, interact with plaques).
With Shadowheart interact with the Traversal Gem to go down.
Guantlet of Shar
With Shadowheart solve all of Shar’s trials.
With Minthara solve all of Shar’s trials.
Go North reading the Plaques on the floor. Beware of traps. Use the levers in each side room to
lower the lamps so you can extinguish them
. Interact with the Umbral Gem. Go East, then return and go West.
Jump across the mushrooms and go down the Cragged Rock. Go North to the Kitchen. Continue North. Observe the rats worshipping to the East but leave them for now. Interact with the Altar to Shar and Pray for resistance to Necrotic damage (except followers of Selûne).
Continue North and tell the Reconstitued Duellist that Z’rell sent you. Go West to speak with Balthazar. Trade with him while in conversation. Persuade him to give you resources to help you help him. You can kill him now or later.
With Shadowheart kill all of Balthazar’s undead.
Return East then open the Vault to the North (Knock spell or scroll). Continue East until you reach the Waypoint. Read the Plaque to the North.
Go North to the first door to the West. Walk toward the statue to the East then interact with the Plaque and enter the first Trial.
Disarm all the traps and get the Soft-Step Trial Key
before you attempt the Trial.
Have Shadowheart look at the statue then shed her blood in the Sacrificial Bowl to start the Trial. Grab the first Umbral Gem. Exit the Trial.
With Lae’zel defeat herself.
Go North to the next door. Enter the door to the West for the Self-Same Trial. You’ll have to combat whichever party members you bring with you but if you attack a character not yourself you’ll get Cheater’s Folly and won’t get Killer’s Sweetheart.
Have Shadowheart look at the statue then shed her blood to start the Trial. Grab the second Umral Gem and Killer’s Sweetheart.
Exit the Trial and continue North down the stairs. Enter the door and observe the map on the floor before the Altar. Have Shadowheart meet the statue’s gaze then shed blood to start the Trial. Grab the third Umbral Gem.
Exit the Trial and go South past the next door to grab the Lever Handle. Take the Elevator up then place the Lever Handle in the Lever Base.
With Astarion continue East until you come to some broken stairs going down. Jump across then go North and Jump to find Spider Meat. Investigate it to find that a Succubus has infected the meat so the Displacer Beast Nessa has been Charmed to love Yurgir.
With Astarion expose a half-truth in Yurgir’s contract.
With Karlach obtain the orthon’s crossbow.
With Lae’zel defeat Yurgir.
Go South to find the Orphon Yurgir. Talk to Yurgir. You can trick him into killing his Merregons, Nessa, and himself. Loot the area. Go North to find a Heavy Chest.
Use the Guantlet of Shar Waypoint then go East to the elevator and take it down.
Kill the two rats there then kill the next one that appears (or speak with it for a tiny treasure). Follow the rats down the Cragged Rock to the East then down the Cragged Rock to the North.
Instead of killing rats and following them down, you can go down the Cragged Rocks to find the Ritual Circle and light the candles to make the rat that offers treasure appear.
With Shadowheart/Gale discover the truth of all the rats.
If you don’t want the tiny treasure, kill about 50 rats (Spirit Guardians makes this trivial) to make Lyrthindor appear.
Go back up the first Cragged Rock then Jump East and go up a new Cragged Rock. Go South then East through a doorway. Inside is a Heavy Chest and a Gilded Chest.
Leave the room and go North. Instead of going back down the Cragged rock you can Jump across the gap and go East to the Chamber of Command. Get the Silver Key behind the broken Mirror, unlock the Gilded Chest, and interact with the Mural.
With Shadowheart use the Guantlet of Shar Waypoint then go East to stairs going down to the North. Place an Umbral Gem in the Pedestal of Reckoning.
Go South then West to the Elevator and take it down.
Go in the first door to the West. Take out the Librarian to remove the
Silence
effect on the room. The
Northwest
button opens the portcullis. Insert
Teachings of Loss: The Nightsinger
into the pedestal.
Go back to the Elevator and go up, go East then North down the stairs. Get on the platform and activate the Traversal Gem. Insert the remaining Umbral Gems into the Ancient Altar. Read the Plaque before entering the Inner Sanctum.
WARNING:
Entering the Shadowfell cuts off access to all Act I areas.
Enter the Shadowfell.
Shadowfell
with Gale discover the truth about the Nightsong.
With Shadowheart release the Nightsong.
With Lae’zel release the Nightsong.
Follow the path jumping down to find the Nightsong. You should be able to trust Shadowheart to make the right decision.
Leave the Shadowfell. Take a Long Rest to get Rafael to appear.
Moonrise Towers
Travel to Last Light Inn and speak with Isobel.
With Minthara meet Ketheric Thorm?
With Lae’zel complete the assault on Moonrise Towers.
With Lae’zel defeat the skeletons in Moonrise Prison.
Travel to Moonrise Towers and go inside. Trade with Quartermaster Talli. Go to the Prison. Go to the Throne Room and talk to Jaheira. Persuade her to join you. Go to the roof to confront Ketheric Thorm.
Talk to Jaheira on the roof. With Wyll, Karlach, Shadowheart, Dark Mind, and Slave Mind follow Ketheric down inside the Hollow Tower.
Mindflayer Colony
With Karlach explore all sections of the colony.
Go East then go immediately South. Talk to Chop. Free him and Us. Go back North, continue East until you can go North. Interact with the Neural Apparatus. Release everyone. Talk with Zevlor.
Go North and free Mizora. Persuade her for a reward. Talk to Wyll. Interact with the Brine Pool for a tadpole.
Go Southeast into the Barracks then North to speak with Kressa Bonedaughter. Deceive her then Persuade her to give you a blessing.
Go all the way South to the Necrotic Laboratory. Clear the area then Jump Southeast. Complete the Brain Puzzle then go South. Be sure to grab Waking Mind and interact with the Desecrated Relief.
Return North then go Southwest. Be sure to grab the Eyepatch. Interact with the Mind-Archive Interface and insert a Mind. Interact with Slack-Skinned Head. Only the Waking Mind has a benefit, the rest are for color. Purge the Waking Mind.
Go North then East. Use the Restoration Station. Stand on the platform and interact with the Neural Apparatus.
With Shadowheart approach Ketheric Thorm.
Go East and fight Kethric Thorm. You can make him kill himself. Invisible Scratch can sneak ahead and free Dame Aylin. Defeat the Apostle of Myrkul. Loot the table to the Northeast then Ketheric. Talk to your Dream Visitor. Take the Portal to the Surface.
Speak to Wyll about Gortash, Orin, and his Pact.
Speak with Dame Aylin and invite her to your camp. Speak with Barcus then Wulbren. Trade with Quartermaster Talli. Speak with Art Cullagh, Minthara, and Jaheira. Ask Jaheira to join you. Talk to Alfira about the kids twice and Mattis.
WARNING:
Taking the Road to Baldur’s Gate cuts off access to all Act II areas.
Take the Road to Baldur’s Gate will take you to Camp. Speak with all your companions and Dame Aylin twice, then Long Rest. Speak with Shadowheart again then leave camp.
